Mark your calendars for May 9th, for the 28th Carbondale Dandelion Day! The 2026 festival is presented in collaboration with Aspen Indigenous Foundation, with the theme “Common Ground”. We invite you to start the day with our Parade of Species down Main Street, where children and adults of all ages are encouraged to dress in costumes of their favorite species or creature, and walk in the parade (no registration required, just meet at 2nd and Main by 9:45 if you want to participate). The Parade, which includes dancers, drummers, Carbondale Flash Mob and Mountain Action Indivisible will end in Sopris Park where local farmers, nonprofits and vendors are open 10am-5pm.
Free face painting, interactive booths and mother’s day shopping are a few things to expect in addition to main stage activations, including Lakota hip hop artist, Nataanii Means performing at 12:30pm, a live panel discussion at 1:45pm and our final act, local sweet hearts, The Rosie Joe’s at 3:30pm.
The KDNK beer garden is open from 12-5pm, serving local beer, wine and spirits. All are welcome to celebrate Spring, sustainability and Earth Stewardship. As always, no dogs, no glass and no outside alcohol allowed in Sopris Park. Thanks for making this the best Dandelion Day ever! More information on the Carbondale Dandelion Day Facebook page. See you there!
