Carbondale Arts presents three new solo exhibitions at the Carbondale Arts Gallery on display October 3 – 30, 2025. The community is invited to the opening reception taking place First Friday, October 3, from 5-7pm at The Launchpad with artist talks beginning at 5:30pm.
“Recording Time (with Scraps and Words)” by mixed media artist Courtney Kenny incorporates poetry as a form of sketching to record observations, emotions, frustrations, and revelations. Through her own art and poetry, Courtney documents these visceral moments of awe.
“Intimate. Immensity.” Laura Dortmans’ ceramic sculptures perform as a surrogate for the physicality of her body. The solidification of gestural movement translates a moment of intimate touch and gives form to the immensity of internal geography; desire, tender love, preserved in space and time.
“Fluid Landscapes” by Michael Kinsley features newer landscape paintings, notable for their intriguing amplification of Nature’s sensual forms. These “fluid” landscapes in oil depict familiar scenes in Southeastern Utah and Western Colorado, especially the Roaring Fork Valley.
