Propaganda Pie began in the Historic District of Redstone, Colorado. Redstone is an enchanting mountain village on the banks of the Crystal River. Inspired by pizza created in Detroit, Michigan using rectangle “blue pans” taken from the automotive assembly lines in the mid 1940’s. The pan originally was designed to hold and pass small parts and tools on the assembly line. Legend has it that a pizzeria called Buddy’s Rendezvous in Detroit, MI transformed this industrial tool to a now infamous pizza pan. The “blue pan” as a cooking vessel creates a crispy crust and a signature caramelized cheese border.
