Potato Day is the longest standing annual community event in Carbondale! Since 1909, local farming and ranching families have kept local traditions alive with a parade, BBQ, potato sack races, and other fun activities that will take place in Sopris Park. Come out for some great racing for all ages and abilities. Shaka Cross is a series where riders can grow and improve their skills, while having a great time. Cyclocross is a mixture of grass, pavement and dirt, featuring obstacles and dismounts that require shouldering the bike on a closed course of 1-2 miles. The annual Jingle Bell 5K Run & Ugly Sweater Contest will be held December 18th, 2016. The race starts at Independence Run and Hike at 11am.
