The Spring Gulch Trail System, located just seven miles southwest of Carbondale, Colorado, offers over 28 kilometers of meticulously groomed cross-country ski trails for all levels. Operated by the Mount Sopris Nordic Council, a non-profit organization, this exceptional trail system relies on the generous support of skiers and the community to maintain its high standards.
Designed by skiers for skiers, the Spring Gulch trails cater to a wide range of abilities. Beginners will find the gentle slopes of Lazy Eight a perfect introduction to the sport, while more experienced skiers can challenge themselves on the longer, more demanding trails like Finlandia, enjoying breathtaking views along the way.

From the intersection of Main Street and Highway 133 (the roundabout), continue west on the road that passes between ACE Hardware and the 7-11 gas station. Stay on this road (County Road 108) for approximately six miles. The Thompson Lot and main trailhead are located at the end of the plowed road.
