In 1999, the Town of Carbondale established the Carbondale Public Arts Commission (CPAC) to enrich the community by promoting and showcasing visual art. To achieve this, CPAC launched the annual Art Around Town exhibition, featuring a rotating display of outdoor sculptures throughout the town, enhancing the public experience for both residents and visitors.
