Celebrating 21 years of Ceramic Arts and the Carbondale Community:
Carbondale Clay Center 1997-2018
The Carbondale Clay Center opened it doors in 1997 with artist and educator Diane Kenney as founding Executive Director and Dan Trautman as Managing Director. With the help of community volunteers they transformed a 2,300 square foot cinder block building in a working ceramics studio and community center for the ceramic arts.
In January of 1998 the first weekly clay classes began. In the months and years to follow the Carbondale Clay Center grew to offer a full program of services including artist workshops, educational outreach, public art, a residency program and community events. Today the CCC exists as a highly valued organization in both the local community and the national ceramics community.Find out more »
