Imagine up to 100 big, multi-colored rubber balls being shuffled by youth soccer players down Main Street in downtown Carbondale during First Friday on September 6th!
Get ready for the second Running of the Balls, brought to you by Ace Hardware of Carbondale and benefiting Carbondale Rotary! Purchase adoption tickets for only $10 apiece for a chance to win the grand prize of $5,000! Look for tickets for sale from our Rotarians and Mt. Sopris Rotary Club outside City Market Carbondale and Ace Hardware in Carbondale at select times, and through our youth non-profit partners, the Roaring Fork Soccer Club, Ascendigo and YouthZone!Find out more »

Carbondale Arts brings the community together on First Friday, November 1st for the annual celebration of Dia De Los Muertos or Day of the Dead. Festivities start at 5pm at the Third Street Center (TSC) for altar viewing, face painting, Mexican hot chocolate, and traditional treats. An Afro-Latin Dance Performance and Que Viva will be held before the procession begins at 6:30pm. Bring your flashlights, candles, or glow sticks for the procession as it will be dark! Youngsters can visit with Santa and give him their wish lists in the warmth of The Launchpad. Santa will be at the Launchpad from 3:00 until 7:00 pm. The Launchpad will also feature classic holiday movies and enjoy holiday shopping at the Deck the Walls holiday market in the R2 Gallery.
Santa will take his sleigh to perform his magic and light up the trees and holiday lights on Main Street. Santa’s first stop will be at the large tree on Main Street & Weant Boulevard near the Forest Service building around 5:15 pm. The Roaring Fork High School Chamber Choir will get everyone in the spirit with some acapella carols. “Oh Christmas Tree” will start the festivities and when the holiday spirit reaches its crescendo, Santa will start the countdown and magically illuminate all the lights on the trees on Main Street.Find out more »
