Summer Park Concert Series

July 8 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm

4pm: Banjira

5pm: Let Them Roar www.letthemroar.com

6:30pm: Eldergrown www.eldergrown.com

ABOUT BANJIRA: You have got to love Carbondale and the valley for their creative spirit and quest for new musical sounds. So that’s why it’s no surprise that Sarah Morehouse should think her banjo and vocals would go perfectly with an African instrument called the Mbira. Joining Sarah is the multi instrumentalist, Eric Baumheier and Aja McAdams. Should sound sweet and new.

ABOUT LET THEM ROAR: This popular local band “weaves mountain folk into a soulful tapestry of roots, rock, and raw improvisations. A group bent on bringing their hearts to the stage and sharing the meaning and purpose of their lives, each member honors their historical roots while pushing their creative boundaries.”
“Their music reflects their home, which is nestled deep in the heart of the Elk Mountains where a confluence of Culture farmers, immigrants, naturalists, recreationalists, artisans and musicians; and Wildlands free flowing rivers, big mountains, wildlife and migrating birds come together in a richly laden land known as Carbondale, Colorado.”
The band “has a live album and two studio EPs. They are contemplating new recording projects, community-based performances and tours. They have performed in venues and festivals through out the state and have opened for bands such as Elephant Revival, The Samples, Tab Beniot, Hit and Run Bluegrass, Hellbound Glory, Paper Bird, Band of Heathens, and more.”

We have had this high energy band from the south to play the room and they put on a powerfully entertaining show. They should sould great in the park so bring your dancing flip flops for a sweet time in the park. In the shade dancing with your friends and neighbors. And probably a few strangers who stumbled on the live music. All are welcome.
“Funk meets Rock, Pop meets Hip Hop. Elder Grown combines the freedom of improvisational Jams with their Captivating, Original songs. From the First Song to the Fourth Hour, Elder Grown encourages you to break down your idea of genre and tempo with your hips and heartbeat. A personal Pandora station, Elder Grown rollercoasters listeners through seamless, rule-breaking sound. Switching instruments mid-song, you never know who is going to sing or play what next. Join Elder Grown and journey into the unrecognizable familiar.”
