Glenwood Springs Golf Course: It is a mature and affordable public facility, and it was voted the best nine-hole course in the State of Colorado in 2001. Amenities include a full-service pro shop, lessons, golf club repair, a restaurant, and practice putting and chipping greens. Yearly memberships or daily greens fees are available. Come play the hill!
Ranch at Roaring Fork: It is a good bet for the beginner or for experienced players looking for a casual outing at a good price, and a par-3, nine-hole course with a hole worth mentioning -- #6. Away from the rush of traffic along Highway 82, #6 has a tree line and houses on the left side, and a tee shot over water with more trees and bunkers protecting the green.
River Valley Ranch: Situated at the foot of Mt. Sopris, RVR is a 520-acre residential golf and resort community nestled in the Crystal River Valley. The rolling valley floor and banks of the Crystal River unite to create a prime landscape from which to craft a magnificent mountain golf course. With the natural palette of the valley's riparian corridors, wetlands, grasses and rolling topography, RVR was heralded as "the new jewel of the Rockies " by Golf Magazine. This Jay Morrish-designed championship course is cradled in the Crystal River Valley and includes four holes along the banks of the Crystal River, including the course's famous #7. The award-winning design also features striking bunkers, large greens, elevation changes and water features created to take full advantage of the breath-taking mountain and Crystal River Valley views. There is a driving range, putting and chipping green, practice green, and pro shop. RVR is built on what was once a working ranch, amidst pinion trees and sagebrush, with Mt. Sopris breathing down the neck of every shot. Click here for live web camera images.
