A daily newspaper, the Glenwood Springs Post Independent, is published in nearby Glenwood Springs; two daily newspapers, The Aspen Times and Aspen Daily News; and one weekly paper, The Aspen Times Weekly, are published in nearby Aspen.
KDNK is a community access, non-profit radio station based in Carbondale, serving the Roaring Fork Valley and beyond. KDNK went on the air in 1983 and was the Valley’s first local public station. The station has an eclectic music format and over 80 volunteer DJ’s who create their own shows and reflect the diversity of the Valley. Since its 1988 affiliation with National Public Radio (NPR), it also offers many popular national news and entertainment programs. The station can also be heard on the web at www.kdnk.org.

Aspen Public Radio/KAJX/KCJX and commercial radio stations KJOY, KMTS, KSNO, KSPN, and KUUR are also received from Aspen through the Glenwood Springs areas. Comcast cable television, Community TV Channel 12 Glenwood Springs, GrassRoots TV Aspen, Access Roaring Fork Basalt, TV Aspen Channel 19, Plum TV Aspen and other cable television stations are available in Carbondale.
