Advancing Colorado

The Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) is spearheading an innovative branding program that will mark a significant new step in creating a stronger strategic alliance between the public and private sectors, across various industries and within every region of the state.

OEDIT’s branding program is not simply about a logo or a tag line. It is about the images and emotion that are evoked when the word “Colorado” is spoken or heard. “Colorado” is the brand and it has been integrated into the State Portal (www.Colorado.gov), OEDIT’s Branding Assessment program and all of its marketing collateral. OEDIT is also working with other state agencies to integrate the Colorado brand.

Advancing Colorado is one of three key initiatives to be implemented by OEDIT over the next 12 months. First, the Colorado.gov Web site will take on a consistent look and feel. Second, to build the Colorado brand and engage citizens and businesses alike, OEDIT has launched the Advancing Colorado initiative, whereby all of Colorado will have the opportunity to participate in branding the state. Advancing Colorado gear is available for purchase, along with free decals for display. Third, OEDIT will begin to garner exposure for the Colorado brand in key markets within the U.S and internationally.

Advancing Colorado is an initiative through which OEDIT intends to build a culture within Colorado that is locally-driven, individually-owned with a spirit of contribution and teamwork. The approach creates a vehicle to build a stronger sense of personal responsibility throughout the State and to infuse the Colorado brand. The key philosophy of the brand can be summed up in three sentences.

Everyone has something to contribute.
Everyone has a place at the table.
Everyone can advance Colorado.
