Volunteers are needed year-round for a multitude of administrative duties including helping with mailings, filing, answering phones and greeting visitors. This is a great way to keep in touch with the community and assist your local Chamber!
The Business Conference Committee plans and conducts the Annual Fall Business Conference. The 2008 co-chairs are Jeff Hale, Aspen Earthmoving and Colleen Borkovec, American National Bank.
The Leads/Business Networking Group provides a structured environment for the development and exchange of quality business leads and marketing opportunities. The 2008 co-chairs are Rona Fischer, Carbondale Insurance Services and Dr. Andy White, Mt. Sopris Eye Care.
The Marketing Committee increases the Chamber's media exposure and updates the promotional materials. The 2008 chair is Pat Curry, Blue Tent Marketing.
The Membership Committee provides support for members by developing new member materials and recommending new member benefits and services. This committee assists in recruiting new members and in the produciton of the printed Business Directory & Community Guide in the fall. The 2008 co-chairs are Steve Martin, Steve Martin Insurance/New York Life, and Steve Walters, Peak Party Rentals, LLC.
The Membership Education Committee designs and implements effective programs, seminars, workshops and forums for member businesses and their employees. The 2008 chair is Andrea Porter, Glenwood Springs Post Independent.
Members of the Posse act as goodwill ambassadors on behalf of the Carbondale Chamber and represent the Chamber at various functions. The Posse helps with registration and bartending at Business After Hours, Educational Workshops and other events as well as attending ribbon cuttings and open houses and other functions. The 2008 co-chairs are Linda Slack, Aspen Sotheby's International Realty and Pamela Eppler, Carbondale Chamber.
The Public/Private Education Committee is responsible for designing and implementing business courses for the Roaring Fork School District, creating internships for students in the program, and developing scholarship opportunities for business students in conjunction with Colorado Mountain College. The 2008 chair is Judy Haptonstall, Roaring Fork School District.
The Taste of Spring Committee plans and conducts the annual Chamber fundraiser, being held this year on Saturday, April 5 at River Valley Ranch. The 2008 co-chairs are Farrah Roberts, Alpine Bank and Leann Katchuk, Peak Party Rentals, LLC.
The Tourism Council of Carbondale promotes, develops and markets tourism in Carbondale. The 2008 chair is Richard Fuller, Alpine Bank and the Board Liaison is Bob Pazik, Roaring Fork Family Physicians.
