Fishing and Hunting in Carbondale
Happy September!
The best fishing of the year is only a cast away. There is
nothing like fishing in the fall and conditions are prime right now for
anglers to experience some amazing days on the water. The Roaring Fork
Valley offers some of the
finest fly fishing in Colorado and Carbondale lies in the heart of it. Rivers flow
low and clear, fish lie in wait in more predictable spots, and rivers
that were once crowded with felt soled boots are now wide open for the
taking.
Carbondales nearby White
River National Forest
and the Sopris Ranger District also offer some of the finest big game hunting in Colorado. Each year, many hunters
travel to this area in search of mule deer, elk, and black bear.
Mountain goats and Rocky
Mountain bighorn
sheep are also popular game. Small-game species found here are rabbits
and snowshoe hares, coyotes, and pine squirrels, as well as duck and
goose in the winter months.
However you choose to do it, the wilderness around Carbondale
offers some of the best fishing and hunting opportunities in the state
- don't miss your chance!!
