Happy August!
A trip to Carbondale in the fall offers
great events surrounded by spectacular colors. The weather is perfect
and you can head to the mountains to watch wildlife or to explore activities outdoors.
Carbondale is the gateway for the West Elk Loop Scenic Byway, a magnificent adventure
that takes you through the Crystal
River Valley,
with endless views of mountain ranges, fields of alpine wildflowers,
farmlands and cattle ranches. Recreational opportunities abound with
hiking, backpacking, cycling, photography, rock climbing, and wildlife
viewing.
Thinking ahead to October, the Roaring Fork Valley Studio Tour is an event where
painters, glassblowers, sculptors, and other artists open their doors
to demonstrate techniques and exhibit artwork. On the same weekend, you
can visit the historic downtown and their unique shops while joining
