The picturesque town of Carbondale is located
170 miles west of Denver, 30 miles from Aspen, and 12 miles
from Glenwood Springs, in the heart of Colorado's central
Rocky Mountains. At an altitude of 6,181 feet, and resting in
the magnificent shadow of 12,953-foot Mt. Sopris, the
Carbondale area is characterized by an average of 295 days of
sunshine, low humidity, cold but mild winters and comfortable
summers.

Happy January!
 The year in Carbondale begins with over
five feet of snow and more is on the way! Our local ski
resorts are celebrating the beginning of a promising
season with great conditions and even better events.
The Winter X Games, the premier winter
action sports event in the world, happens from January
24-27 in Aspen/Snowmass. In February, Sunlight Mountain
Resort will host the Volvo Ski Spree and the 24 Hours of Sunlight.
What are
you waiting for? Grab your gear and let it SNOW!
Snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing are
also available in the Carbondale area.
To hit
the Aspen slopes, drive 30 miles east from Carbondale or
drive 12 miles south of Glenwood Springs to Sunlight
Mountain Resort.
